Interceding for the US Supreme Court
Prayer
Directives
As we pray the
following prayer directives and intercede for the US Supreme Court today, this
will be an excellent way for everyone to be praying in agreement. There is
power in prayers of agreement.
1.
Praise God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ Timothy
2:1-4
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties
and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for
kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet
life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight
of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge
of the truth.
2.
God Establishes Justice and Equity Psalm 99:4
The strength of the King loves justice; You
have established equity; You have executed
justice and righteousness in Jacob.
3.
Christ is the Head Over All Things Colossians
2:9-10
For in Him all the fullness of Deity
dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head
over all rule and authority
4.
The Church Carries Kingdom Authority 2 Corinthians 5:20
Therefore, we are ambassadors for
Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of
Christ, be reconciled to God.
5.
Use Kingdom Keys of Authority Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom
of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and
whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.
6.
Declare Breakthrough as the Lord God Almighty Arises
2 Samuel 5:20b
The Lord has broken through my enemies
before me like the breakthrough of waters.
Isaiah 60:1-3
Arise, shine; for
your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold,
darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples, but the Lord will
rise upon you
and His glory will
appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness
of your rising.
7.
Give God Thanks and Praise Colossians 3:16-17
Let the word of Christ richly dwell
within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks
through Him to God the Father.
8.
Not in Fasting and Prayer Alone, but also in Worship
Nehemiah 9:1-6
Now on the twenty-fourth day of
this month the sons of Israel assembled with fasting, in sackcloth and with
dirt upon them. The descendants of
Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and con-fessed their
sins and the iniquities of their fathers. While they stood in their place, they
read from the book of the law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day;
and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God. Now on
the Levites’ platform stood Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, She-baniah, Bunni,
Sherebiah, Bani and Chenani, and they cried with a loud voice to the Lord their
God. Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashab-neiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Petha-hiah,
said,
“Arise, bless the Lord your God forever
and ever!
O may Your glorious name be blessed
And exalted above
all blessing and praise!
You alone are the
Lord.
You have made the
heavens,
The heaven of
heavens with all their host,
The earth and all
that is on it,
The seas and all
that is in them.
You give life to
all of them
And the heavenly
host bows down before You.”
9.
Fulfill the Call and Intercede Colossian 4:12,
17
Epaphras, who is one of your number, a
bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always la-boring earnestly
for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the
will of God.
Take heed to the
ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.
10.
Strive Together in Prayer Romans 15:30
Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord
Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers
to God for me,
11.
Wait in Confidence and Trust 1 John 5:14-15
This is the confidence which we have
before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And
if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the
requests which we have asked from Him.
12.
Allow God the Open Their Hearts Through Your Conduct
Colossians 4:2-6
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping
alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as
well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak
forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may
make it clear in the way I ought to speak. Conduct yourselves with wisdom
toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be
with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should
respond to each person.
